As anyone who manages events knows, online ticket sales can be a very helpful way to getting the word out and knowing what to expect in terms of numbers before an event actually happens. There’s a couple of services available for online transactions, from paypal to beanstream, or more event-centred ones like eventbrite.
One service we were delighted to come across is Toronto’s very own Guestlist
Apart from being very user-friendly on the back end, it’s also very chic. But it’s all about the people they always say. So when we got in touch with the guys at Guestlist, and told them about SPEAKout, they were kind enough to offer us guestlist at no cost for our first event with them. One of SPEAKout‘s mandates is to promote local artists, and while that term is certainly inclusive of those lyrical poets we so highly value, we’d like to promote all sorts of artists, if art can be defined as the ability to do things beautifully. And the artists at guestlist so beautifully responded we had to give credit where we felt it was due.
We’re delighted to be guests at Guestlist, and invite anyone organizing an event to try it out!
