Not more than a 20 minute drive from downtown Hamilton, there is a monthly poetry slam happening in Burlington, Ontario. Actively promoting outspoken poetics for more than 3 years running, the Burlington Slam Project takes place every third Thursday of each month. The Burlington Slam Project is a poetry slam series that guarantees a cash prize for the winner and a special feature artist each month for the audience. Always seeking new voices to expand its community, every year this project sends a team to National and International events. Through providing its performers with spoken word arts platform, the Burlington Slam Project is building a network of diverse and talented local artists.
