At age 17, Naima became a poet at the touch of love. A year later she began performing spoken word poetry; inspired by God, Rabia Al-Adawiyya, Sufism, Def Poets, the lives of those around her, and oddly enough, a lack of inspiration. The recurrent theme for most of her poetry is the return to God – a reminder that God is the ultimate solution to every problem.
