Besma has lived in three different continents through out her childhood and teenage years, each shaping her personality, views, and interests in life. Arriving in Canada 10 years ago allowed her to bundle all those differences, seeing their strengths rather than weaknesses portrayed beautifully in one multicultural country. Besma has been writing poetry since the age of 13 as a medium to express her thoughts and views on all that is around her. She has been heavily involved in various community projects for the past 8 years, along with several organizations while completing her Digital Enterprise Management specialist at UofT. Besma loves being surrounded by nature and large masses of water, accompanied by a great book. She believes that we all have the power to create change, with patience and persistence, and sees the power of words applying the first steps of that through SPEAKout.
